Ascend and Escape brings students up to their dorms by combining the concepts of the Stepping Stones promenade and nodes. The combination of the promenade and nodes leads to the creation of large voids that also act as the main circulation up and through the site. The voids house the spaces where community interaction is at the highest causing incidental interaction among the residents. The voids spiral the students up to the Escape: a pool that turns its back to the constant reality of the city and lets students indulge in their hedonistic desires without the worries of their schoolwork-a void.
